Introduction

This article guides you through the process of ensuring that your Heron Copier is functioning correctly by making a simple test trade. This will help you confirm that your trades are being copied accurately across platforms.

How to Make a Test Trade in Heron Copier

Step 1: Prepare the Platforms

Before making a test trade, ensure you have the following open:

  • Demo terminal: This is the terminal on Alpari where you will initiate your test trade.

  • Heron Copier (Master): The platform you are using to copy trades.
  • Heron Copier (Slave): The receiving platform where the trades will be copied.
  • Match Trader System: The online interface to monitor and check your copied trades.

Step 2: Access the Trade Panel

  1. Open a clean terminal for clarity.
  2. In the top left corner of the chart, you'll see a "Show Trade Panel" button. Alternatively, you can press Alt + T to access the panel.

Step 3: Enter a Small Test Trade

  1. In the trade panel, enter 0.01 as the trade volume. This is the smallest trade size you can place, which is perfect for testing purposes.
  2. Press either the buy or sell button to execute the trade. While the general trend of the market doesn't matter for this test, some users prefer to choose based on the market direction.

Note: If you see a prompt asking you to accept terms and conditions for one-click trading, accept them and press buy or sell again.

Step 4: Confirm the Trade on Heron Copier

After placing the trade, check the following:

  • The trade should appear in the Demo Terminal with the relevant details.
  • Go to Match Trader System and verify that the same trade (e.g., Gold U.S. Dollar, buy trade, 0.01 volume) has been copied over correctly.

You should also see a confirmation message on the Match Trader platform indicating that the trade status is OK.

Step 5: Close the Trade

  1. Return to your Demo Terminal and close the trade you just opened.
  2. Check the Match Trader System to ensure the trade has also closed on the receiving end. You should see the closed trade listed in the transaction history.

Troubleshooting

If the trade is not copied correctly:

  • Double-check your Heron Copier settings.
  • Ensure all connections between the Master and Slave terminals are functioning properly.
  • If the issue persists, contact customer support for further assistance.

Conclusion

Testing your Heron Copier is simple: just open a small trade, check if it's copied to the Match Trader system, and close the trade to verify proper functionality. If everything works as expected, your Heron Copier is set up correctly. If not, troubleshoot or seek support assistance.
